Prof. PLO Lumumba

Prof. PLO Lumumba is a distinguished legal scholar and practitioner with extensive expertise in public law, holding an LL.D from the University of Ghent. He is an Advocate of the High Courts of Kenya and Tanganyika and has been recognized with several honorary degrees, including a Doctor of Letters from the University of Cape Coast and a Doctor of Science from Bells University of Technology.

With a rich background in leadership roles, he served as the Director and CEO of the Kenya School of Law, and as the Secretary of the Constitution of Kenya Review Commission. He is the Founding Trustee of the African Institute for Leaders and Leadership and has made significant contributions to anti-corruption efforts as the former Director of the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission.

Prof. Lumumba is a prolific author, having published numerous books and articles on law, governance, and ethics, as well as ventured into fiction. His notable works include “Criminal Procedure in Kenya” and “Judicial Review and Administrative Law.” He has received numerous accolades, including the Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Award and recognition by New African Magazine as one of the 100 most influential Africans.

He has delivered key lectures globally, including the prestigious Kwame Nkrumah Lecture at the University of Cape Coast and the Nelson Mandela Centenary Memorial Lecture in South Africa. Currently, he practices law with Lumumba and Lumumba Advocates and leads initiatives through the PLO Lumumba Foundation, focusing on governance and development in Africa.
